Scammers don't pay attention to whose photos they lift. On Facebook, I got a friend request using poorly photoshopped pics of Mehmet Oz in front of a Christmas tree. On Instagram, I was followed by an account using a profile photo of Anderson Cooper. I blocked both.

Good Lord. She could be charged with assault for doing that. Just touching food without washing hands first can lead to severe illness. I got a microscopic parasite from mishandled catered food last year. The result: 2 months of diarrhea episodes and acute kidney failure.

I had forgotten for a time that Earl Holliman was originally from my corner of the world! My mind goes to Tim McGraw first when I think of notable people from Richland Parish. (Turns out Tim was at Northeast Louisiana University during my years there, but our paths didn't cross.)

I was born in Monroe, grew up in Archibald (founded by my mom's forebears), and Mom worked for a Rayville law office for 4 decades.
