Until recently, I took "Englishness" to denote a native of England, with no political undertones. Then Farage started in with the racist bs. So who is "native"? How many generations back to be considered "English"? I bet the majority have German, Viking & French ancestry! LOL!
His sole concession to Englishness was changing the family name from Mendelovitch to Milland after spotting the actor Ray Milland's name on a film poster.

All very laudable. But does he support biological women retaining their sex-based rights to separate loos, change rooms & sports? The majority of women are watching. And we are 51% of voters!
Polanski appears to be the only political leader in england who is reading the room.

An english parliament for england + re-join EU referendum is bang on the money.

I'm not english, but, I do visit often and notice the rise in "englishness" and anti-brexit sentiment.
As people call for a more details on the border poll, it's worth mentioning the fastest growing party in britain today is the Greens.

Their leader, Zack Polanski, supports an independent Wales & Scotland, sans monarchy and a re-join EU referendum.

They just overtook Labour in the polls.👇

I just find it hilarious that his whole cabinet is sloberring praise all over him with ridiculous hyperbole and he is falling asleep while they're doing it.

You couldn't write comedy better than this. It's better than VEEP.

Women aren’t just refusing to “shut up” — we’re dismantling the whole playbook. Misogyny is the regime’s spine, and women organizing in huge numbers is how democracies survive. From DC to Tennessee, we’re feeding neighbors, flipping districts, and breaking their script. Hell no.

The fallout from Carney's ~masterful gambit~ with Alberta continued today, when the Assembly of First Nations voted unanimously for it to be withdrawn.

All the while, Alberta has already found a new fight to pick with Ottawa (coincidentally, right after Danielle Smith was booed over the deal):

Tried Annika yet? She's good in that too. Pretty eccentric 😆
Last Tango In Halifax is masterful. And Nicola Walker is my...alter ego? Other half? Idk but, we're very similar.

I wouldn't say soothing! It's frustrating a lot of the time! Why certain characters put with other characters I guess most of them have blind sports!
Not sure why we missed Last Tango in Halifax on the beeb the first time but making up for it now. It is very good. Even go far as to say soothing… and very well written as to be expected by Sally Wainwright.

I think Sally Wainwright's characters are supposed to irritate! Apart from Celia, I find John abysmal. I want to strangle him every time he speaks! I guess he's a good actor! And I have no idea why Caroline or Gillian gives him the time of day at all!!!
Watching Last Tango in Halifax on Nexflix and as the series goes on I have come to loathe without redeeming value, lead character Celia. Selfish, narrow-minded, petty and vain.
Originally loved Celia and her long-lost boyfriend Alan with side characters a bit annoying. It's flipped for me.

Can we have this one on Britbox?I'd love to see it again 😍
With it being the 70th birthday of ITV they’ve put loads of old shows on the hub. I’d never seen or heard of At Home With the Braithwaites but it’s fab. Bound to be because it happens to be the first drama Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax) wrote for tv.

Oh! I do remember At Home with the Braithwaites. I knew that Sally Wainwright would go on to write magnificent TV Shows! And I was right!👍👍👍

Sally Wainwright is well-known for creating the popular BBC rom-com “Last Tango in Halifax”.  BBC Scotland is working on a sequel - “Last Irn-Bru in Arbroath”.

Read Norman Baker's book titled ...And What Do You Do?, which exposes the dirt on the Royal Family. Until recently, RF members (most with German ancestry)were closely aligned with Nazi views! Edward VIII, who abdicated, passed on intelligence to the Nazis during WW2! So racist leanings are likely.
