People can do whatever they want, but I myself dislike metaphors of combat with cancer. It is a disorder of cell division. It does not have agency. And "fighting" it implies the people who die are losers. Surviving cancer has nothing to do with moral worth.

A Bad Year For Catherines
I have no particular interest in the British royal family, but nevertheless I’ll be forever grateful to Princess Kate for telling the world about her cancer. It was probably not easy, nor likely he…

Listen to your children read. Read to your children. Read alongside your children. Take them to libraries. Talk about what reading means to you & what it can unlock.
Tell them it doesn’t matter if it’s comics, magazines or books as long as they’re engaged with the written word. #WorldBookDay

Khloe Kardashian is smack talking LA Mayor Karen Bass over the wildfires.

In 2022, Khloe used roughly 101,000 gallons of water over the allotted limit during a drought.

Her sister Kim Kardashian used 232,000 gallons over the limit.

IN ONE MONTH.

Dear LA residents: a reminder. When traffic lights are out, an intersection should be treated as a four-way stop, not as a venue for expression of psychosexual insecurities. Thank you.

Here’s the deal: Make reading your hobby this year. It’ll expand your mind, grow your perspective, and if you grab a library card, you’ll be supporting authors too (yes, in places like the UK, AU, NZ, and Canada, libraries pay authors!). Reading isn’t just fun—it’s a win for everyone.

Sometimes I can’t believe that the library lets me walk out with an armful of books and I don’t have to leave them a credit card number or firstborn child or anything else in exchange.
