Able bodied people should stop talking sometimes. Genuinely. When a disabled person is telling you something you said was ableist, maybe just…listen to what they have to say? Don’t get defensive, just hear us out, & apologize. I’m tired of coddling, just be better.

I am autistic. I pay taxes, I have a job. I dated. I get the desire to push this narrative autistic people DO accomplish these to rebut Kennedy. But there was a time when I DID NOT have a job. And non-speaking autistic people or thise with intellectual disabilities don't. They have worth as well.

Getting a library card finally has been the best thing I could have ever done for my mental health. My chronic migraines have been so bad for so long that I gave up on reading books. Now that I smoke & don’t have as many migraines I have a LOT of catching up to do💀 My to read list is so long y’all.

As a person who is disabled and has been homeless, terms like “differently abled” and “experiencing homelessness” genuinely irritate me more than anything. It gives me the same energy as white people being afraid to call black people “black” because it feels like a bad word to them.

At my work & in my state in order to buy alcohol, cigs, lighters, etc u need to scan the barcode on the back of ur ID at checkout. A dude didn’t have his today, and when I told him it’s the only way for me to cash him out, he threatened to light the store on fire…. Bro was trying to buy a lighter.
