it's because a lot of them, esp younger people (15-22) genuinely see/think/say they see proship as literally the same as pedophiles. I barely do underage and the underage I do is like 16-17. Do you know how often I'll be talking about a real abuser and they'll be like you deserved it proshipper
i will never get over how wild it is for people to say "yeah being proship just means you aren't being a bully to others over what they enjoy in fiction" and antis act like it's the most insane take ever. like -- were you not taught to be nice to others and to be kind to strangers? it's sad.
