On a night in which they did so many things wrong, the Nationals also enjoyed their best offensive performance in four years and got enough quality work from the back of their bullpen for a 15-9 win over the Angels. www.masnsports.com/blog/entry/n...
Nats overcome sloppy mistakes with season-best 15 runs (updated)
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Nationals may not have played a sloppier game all season. Tonight’s series opener against the Angels included defensive mistakes, baserunning gaffes and poor starting pitching.So...

And then this shit just came out.

When you’re making over $700k a year, gaining $12k is nothing. It’s a nice vacation, redoing the garage, giving a niece/nephew a car.

When you’re making $23k a year, losing $1600 is “are we paying for food or for the house or for medical bills” territory.
Budzinski: Families making over $700,000 a year will see a boost of $12,000 almost entirely from tax cuts. Shockingly, households making $23,000 a year or less are set to lose about $1600 a year, mostly due to deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance

@wamu.org everything all right over there? A few minutes ago an announcement said it was 10 o’clock (it was 9:34). And All Things Considered has been broadcasting with some extra transition music for the past 30 minutes or so.

anyone who writes about or talks about the ongoing impact of racism in the united states is accused of a "victim mentality," but this here is the actual victim mentality
This from @jdcivicscience.bsky.social nails why small town, red America is not turning on Trump.

@capitalweather.bsky.social definitely relevant to your interests! We have a hurricane hole as well as a snow hole. Although we probably shouldn’t say that too loudly and tempt fate.

AOC, @aoc.bsky.social, making the case for free speech alongside universal healthcare is so KEY for the left, because it's time progressives reclaimed the mantle of fighting for free speech from the faux free speech warriors of the right.
AOC: I want to live in an America that guarantees healthcare to every person.

I want to live in an America that has a living wage for every person

I want to live in an America where you have free speech to express yourself and not be afraid of being put on a list or deported.

JFC this.

The credulousness problem rn is very real.
Feel like journalists need to be more wary of what sources in DC are telling them anonymously. There is great incentive to discredit media at the moment. Easy for sources to give something on background with the aim of having gov then refute publicly after publishing in order to discredit media.

Musk already tried to obliterate USAid which, among other things, saves a few million lives a year through immunization.

The Times reports his lackeys are eyeing Medicare/Medicaid. Those programs aid tens of millions.

Politics should not interfere with safe-guarding the lives of the American public, but it certainly does and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Reasonable people may disagree on the methods of maintaining public health and safety, but they should not disagree on the goals.

Today I was playing playdoh with my 2yo niece. Our rule is one color at a time. She put away the “lello” and asked for pink. I grabbed a jar I thought was dark pink, turned out it was red. I apologized to her and said I would look again for pink. “That’s a tricky one,” she told me.

She gets me.
