They popped these questions on our evaluations before it was required.

It’s so much fun.

I’ve never before been responsible for the perceived bias of being in a space with other people.

I’m apparently reaponsible for classroom atmosphere.

I’m a class climatologist!

Jk. Climate is illegal!
These are the new state mandated questions that will appear at the end of our student evaluations. Just in case anyone was curious about the effects of right wing higher ed legislation in Ohio:

1. In a major update, the Trump administration has reversed course publicly, and now says "all passports" will remain valid until they expire for transgender people.

This comes after many outlets reported a message that indicated passports could be revoked.

'Fewer than half are even fully aware that universities conduct research.'

Real indictment of universities' strategies and comms this. An own goal that could and should be rectified. Engaging broad publics with research is not rocket science. And if it were, universities have rocket scientists. 3/3

We all planned never to wear skirts or dresses because we literally had no idea what surface we’d be sitting on.

I always had a chair, but still. Yeah. Hotel rooms.

You’d sit on that small bench by the 8th fl elevator with some other sad sack.

You both look down a dark hall and await the hour.
If you are not in academia, you might not know this, but job interviews used to be held at conferences IN HOTEL ROOMS. Women candidates in a hotel room alone with often all-male committees. People sitting on beds! The horror stories I've heard.
I thing I sometimes thing about is that university departments were still doing job interviews in hotel rooms in the mid aughts

Hey folks. I have spent *days* reading and meticulously drafting comments on a very lengthy manuscript. Which I have just found includes an AI-faked quote. Attributed to ME.

Here is a thread of my feelings

I scored about 25% of the points today from both teams so got most valuable offensive skater.

Old, but not irrelevant yet!

Managed a 180 jump as well during gameplay! 🛼

Dear Diary,

I was just told “you have a Wawa
now.”

For a moment I’d hoped Pennsylvania had truly invaded and usurped all of Ohio.

Alas, they just put their gas station in a suburb.

To see a new governor come in and say “stop bullying public employees you are actually duty-bound to treat well!”…. 😍

It’s so inspirational , and yet…it should be very much the baseline.

If you aren’t Texas A&M YET, it’s time to do whatever you gotta to make sure you never are.

Organize! Defend yourself and your colleagues!

Whatever special work you need to do may never be done without an institution that allows you to do that work.

It’ll hold. Go pick up a shovel.
