Fun Tariff Facts: during the depression the US lost access to many imported paper products. They were replaced with an unusually tough paper stock made of hemp from the Philippines (then a US colony, and tariff exempt).

Anyway, that’s why they were, and still are, called Manila folders /
envelopes.

Meanwhile, Trump hit them with a 20% tariff.
Incredibly moving. 1000s of Lithuanians lined the streets of the capital Vilnius yesterday to honor the four US soldiers killed on their soil.

As their bodies are repatriated to the US, their President will be nowhere to be seen, except on a Florida golf course.

Trump, Musk, and McMahon are trying to shut down the Department of Education. Their actions are illegal and unconstitutional.

That’s why NEA, alongside other organizations representing millions of educators, students, and families are taking them to court.

We will stop this attack on our schools.

The Secretary of Defense and some of the Trump administration's highest-ranking officials recklessly shared highly sensitive military plans in a Signal group chat.

The Trump administration must provide the American people with clear answers regarding how this security breach occurred.

You better not abandon this story, press corps. But maybe explain to him what Signal is because I'm positive he has no goddamn clue.
Top Trump admin. officials – including the VP, defense secretary and national security adviser – used Signal, a secure messaging app, that is outside of the national security apparatus to discuss plans for military strikes in Yemen that include detailed, sensitive and confidential information. Oh really? The Atlantic: "the Hegseth post [on the Signal thread] contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing."
(Hegseth presumably had this information on his *private* cellphone.)

One thing that most people are missing in the group text scandal: The Trump officials don’t appear clear on what *exactly* Trump approved, which is a huge problem in using military force. Stephen Miller says “as I heard it … green light.” 😱😬 www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/six-short-...

The effort has sparked concern among lawmakers who fought for Red Flag in 2023 and gun violence prevention advocates.
