To all the educators jumping right back into school after winter break: you got this.

Clap your hands if you're ready to work together to promote, protect, and strengthen our public schools in 2026.

It's not only a new year, but a new month of #ReadAcrossAmerica recommendations—and for January, the theme is ending exclusion. Pick one out for a young reader in your life 📚

Happy New Year to all ✨

This year and in the years to come, our job remains: putting our students first, advocating for our professions, and empowering our communities.
January 1, 2026 at 3:45 PM
As we all prepare to close the door on this past year and usher in the new, I am wishing for a brighter, more hopeful 2026 for educators and students everywhere.

I have a few New Year's wishes for educators everywhere:

📚 a year without book bans
🏫 fully funded schools
🕞 protected planning time

❤️ professional pay

What are yours?

Every December, when I look back on the year, the best moments of my job are the ones I spent alongside NEA members.

Every day is an opportunity to improve the world that our children will inherit.
December 27, 2025 at 6:41 PM
An activist's job is not just to advocate for their community, but to take care of themselves. We cannot care for others without caring for ourselves first.

I hope all are getting much-needed rest during the holidays.

Educators, you did it! You made it to winter break ❄️

I hope you get the time you deserve to breathe and recuperate.

If there is one gift you could give your students and your school, what would it be? 🎁
December 21, 2025 at 6:43 PM
When we fight for public schools, we are fighting for our children.

Educators deserve professional pay, support, and respect. Period.
December 19, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Every single child deserves to be celebrated, loved, and supported for who they are—nothing less. It is the place of parents and doctors to secure the care that their children need, not politicians.

Shame on the administration for standing in the way.

Trump's admin is taking reckless steps to override local authority, consolidate Big Tech control & sideline experts, educators & parents. And they threaten to cut off broadband access for some, increasing inequality. This conflicts directly with principles that center humanity's safety & well-being.

December's #ReadAcrossAmerica books are truly a delight—especially for a middle school science teacher like me 💜 Any of these beautiful children's books about human history, evolution, and more would make a wonderful gift!

During a celebration meant to focus on hope and light, gun violence has once again stolen the lives of too many.

We cannot tolerate antisemitism or gun violence—we must speak out and put an end to both.

My heart goes out to the victims of the mass shooting at Brown University, their families, and the Brown community. Students and educators deserve the freedom to go to school with safety and without fear. We will not stop advocating for an end to gun violence.

As educators, we are united in supporting every student—Native, Asian, Black, Latino, newcomer, White, LGBTQ+ and disabled—who deserve high-quality, safe, and welcoming public schools.

While families are already struggling to afford necessities, and too many lack access to health care, this Trump-controlled Congress once again failed the American people and refused to extend ACA subsidies.

The impact will be devastating. We will continue to organize and demand accountability.

Every day, across the country, educators make magic happen in classrooms.

One in five public school students attends a rural school—and they deserve sustained investment.

I applaud passage of Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act, and those Senators and Representatives who saw this through. Our nation's rural students need this support to reach their full potential.

My father was a history teacher, so I actually do know how much history rocks—and how reprehensible it is that this administration continues to censor and whitewash it.

Linda McMahon represents the most extreme & harmful views in education—she keeps demonstrating this by destroying the department she's supposed to lead.

Voters continually reject vouchers, yet she ignores the will of the people, decimates public schools & moves us towards dangerous voucher schemes.
