Ew. Pelosi and Jeffries consistently undermined Harris and her team, in all the insidious & mean girl ways you might expect. If your adjacency to Pelosi, Jeffries, and the like is how you live your life - then this misogynoir fueled take is what I expect. Spare us the “insider take” b/c it is trash.
Kamala Harris’s new memoir, “107 Days,” is “almost entirely backward looking and doesn’t really seem to have an idea of where she or the party would go,” Michelle Cottle says in a round table discussion with the Opinion columnists Carlos Lozada and Lydia Polgreen.

Tune in. @karenattiah is an exemplar of journalism. She BUILT the Global Opinions pages at WaPo. Her firing by the WaPo is cowardly & deeply unjust. Unlike so many who prioritize their think tank adjacency over voices on the front lines. May she sell out every one of her @resistancestudiesseries!!!
New from me:

There's a lot of misinformation around the reasons I was fired from WaPo.

Here's the official termination letter I got sent by Washington Post.

Nonviolence is the only way forward.

For all of us.

Sharing graphically violent images is destructive. It dehumanizes. It desensitizes. It numbs our souls to suffering.

It’s never ok. Humans have demonstrated that the more violence we see, the more violent we can be.

Enough.

There are actually quite a few undocumented Russians in the US.

Anyone have any videos of ICE forcefully deporting them?

Or just the brown people?

Read my post again.

This is about the attempts to convince Black and White voters not to vote for politicians who claim African/ Caribbean heritage-- by claiming they are fraudulently cosplaying as Black -- as if being Black grants power and privilege.

Yes, its absurd, and that is the point.
It doesn’t *to me* in this case where the question is around his usage of African-American on a form… he hasn’t claimed to be Black or African-American as an ethnicity has he?

If not, this comparison and the reaches being made don’t really make sense to me.
I am begging people to read closely.

I said *Black international*/ "African" heritage. Meaning Caribbean or African roots.

Harris- Jamaican
Obama-Kenyan
Mamadani- Ugandan.

Does this make sense?

Immediately thought of how Kamala was raked over the coals barely a year ago for being biracial. She was “suddenly Black” according to Trump, and all the media outlets just gleefully platformed his racism. This is no different.
Correct.

The common tactic we can see in the last ten years is that mixed-race politicians who claim Black international/ or African heritage are "not really Black" -- so as to dissuade Black Americans from supporting them.

See Obama, Harris, Mamdani.

Clockwork. Nasty work.
They pulled that on Obama too, or tried too.

Obama's Kenyan father, and his middle name being Hussein brought accusations of being an "anti-colonialist" and a "secret Muslim."

There are direct ties between normalized anti-Blackness, Africaness being disqualifying and suspicious --and normalized Islamophobia -- as we see with Mamdani.
Used to hear "He's not even black! He's half white!" about Obama quite a bit back in the day

If Mamdani had checked just Asian or say, Asian and white (bear with me) NYT would never have run that story.

The only reason they ran that story is because of the cultural belief that being Black gives you leg up in society despite research that says that isn't true.

Also this.
Even more cynically, it shows a pretty clear intent to alienate Black voters from Mamdani by painting him as an imposter. They did the same thing to Harris a year ago!
