The Washington Post was the paper of my teen dreams -- whose courage helped convince me to chose a life in journalism. Monday's firing of the Post's moral beacon, Karen Attiah, proved that a newsroom I'd believed in is now dead to me

Why I finally ditched the Post www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

People who were critical of Friday’s remarks by Utah Gov. Spencer Cox might take a second listen.

“Words are not violence,” he said, which in recent years has been an idea expressed by many conservatives. But…

My plan to revive American manufacturing is to: raise the price of inputs like steel, aluminum & copper; create shortages of rare earths; generate less electricity; invite retaliatory tariffs; cut R&D; raise borrowing costs by blowing out the budget; and to cover it all in a cloud of uncertainty.

Don’t be the kind of ghoul who is delighted by the death of innocent children in Texas.

That’s Greg Abbott’s thing. Don’t be like Greg Abbott.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)

Silly Leftists thought we’d be better off spending the last 40 years addressing climate change and making sure everyone had healthcare.

Glad we didn’t get ourselves into a mess like that. I mean, could you imagine??

Sen. Murphy continues to regularly say the things that many of you complain that no prominent Democrat is saying.
The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?

Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

Happy 250th Birthday to OUR Army.

These are the kinds of memories I’ll always cherish, celebrating the cutting of the Army’s birthday cake together with the youngest soldier in the unit.

Celebrating true service, our values and the legacy of our force.

This is who & what our army is!

These are the proactive steps states need to be taking right now. Another thing: every Democratic governor needs to have a sit-down now with the state adjutant general to carefully review that person's understanding of their responsibilities to their state, its citizens and the federal constitution.
Washington just took the reasonable step of not allowing the National Guard of other states to operate here without our agreement. It’s not the Guard personnel we are concerned about, it’s other governors in the Trump cult. katu.com/news/local/g...
