Kristi Noem billed South Dakota taxpayers more than $640,000 in personal travel-related costs, including a six-day trip to Paris, a bear hunt in Canada, a trip to Houston for dental work to fix her smile, and a book tour. But she can afford a $50,000 Rolex for a prison porn photo op in El Salvador.
Kristi Noem refused to say who financed some of her travel. It was taxpayers who were on the hook
An Associated Press analysis of recently released travel records found more than $150,000 in expenses tied to Noem’s political and personal activity.

Many US coastal cities have combined sewer systems that overflow after heavy rain, sending raw sewage into nearby waters. Challenges like this are about to get worse with the recent San Francisco v. EPA #SCOTUS decision undermining the Clean Water Act and eroding the EPA’s ability to enforce it.

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, or SSPE, “was once considered quite rare. But Dr. Adam Ratner, a pediatric infectious disease specialist in New York City who wrote a history of measles, says data from outbreaks in the U.S. over the past several decades suggests that may not always be the case.”
Measles remains a danger to health even years after an infection
The measles outbreak in Texas and New Mexico is now close to 300 cases. Most are unvaccinated children. People usually recover, but doctors are stressing how dangerous and long-lasting it can be.
