Hoping to leave a world where my grandchildren can thrive. Believe history must be respected as well as honor, truth, and duty. Writer, former director at Apple, former cattleman, now herding tabby cats in NC as I preserve memories with photography & words
There are places that stick with you. A glance at an old photo can bring back memories far beyond the visual elements that are etched in your mind. This picture is attached to one of those places, the Point at Emerald Isle. I can still feel the sand, smell the saltwater and hear the waves and wind.

I am at a loss for words if you can still support an administration that has RFK Jr as Secretary of Health and "Let them cake" Pam Bondi as Attorney General. They both should resign and go hide in Texas.

As someone said this morning, the one takeaway from Pam Bondi's testimony is that her client is Donald Trump not the American people. Her legacy will be corrupting the Justice Department not bringing people who break the law to justice.

Gift article, just how can someone get indicted for reciting our law. Only in trump's hate-filled administration. wapo.st/4raX2ce
Opinion | The Trump Justice Department’s most abusive stunt yet
The failed attempt to indict Democratic lawmakers for constitutionally protected speech is a new low.

LZ Granderson: Trump keeps reminding us why people support him. It's the racism. I agree on the racism but we can also say with some certainty that Kamala Harris also faced misogynists. How different our world would be today if she had been elected. journalnow.com/opinion/colu...
LZ Granderson: Trump keeps reminding us why people support him. It's the racism.
The president of the United States posted a racist video Thursday night depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. On Friday, the White House dismissed criticism — but the president

"Pam Bondi refused to apologize to Epstein survivors & demanded that Democrats apologize to Trump." She came armed with insults. Compare that to special counsel Jack Smith who was unequivocal that Trump caused the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on U.S. Capitol." Smith came armed with facts and the law. NYT

A real leader as opposed to the toady, Mike Johnson, would have brought Trump's tariffs to a vote long ago. Johnson, a lap dog, has let Trump run rampant. At least now Canadians can see that there are Americans who believe in the friendship & partnership we've had over the years. A glimmer of hope.

The so-called morality of the Christian right has vaporized as quickly as their fiscal conservatism.
February 11, 2026 at 7:04 PM
Finally, we will see a debate on Trump's usurpation of the power of tariffs from the House. Finally, we will see a vote that identifies traitors who let trump do what he wants and those willing to standup for separation of power and the Constitution. Johnson had been able to stonewall that request.

Those fiscally conservative GOP deficit hawks have always only functioned when the other party was in power, but this takes their indifference to GOP deficits to a new level. And if the tariffs are ruled illegal as they should be, these numbers will get worse.

Deranged Trump -“Canada has treated US very unfairly,” Bridge was built “with virtually no US content,” & CDA boycott of U.S. alcohol, dairy tariffs, the trade deal between Canada & China that he said would “terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, & permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup,”

"Trump, and therefore the Maga movement, demand submission and fealty. A surprising number of people are willing to provide it, even while crowing about their freedoms. But real artists, even conservative ones, tend not to be so easily constrained."

I put together an index of my blog going back about 90 posts or ten years. I have managed to check the first 30 for links back to Typepad which disappeared this past fall. I will work on the rest as I get time. Most of my life is written up in those pages. ocracokewaves.me/blog-article...

A different world back in 1971. I bought an old farm that year My car rode the Bluenose ferry to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia I applied for Landed Immigrant status and got approval perhaps an hour later. It was harder to move back to the US sixteen years later even though I still had my US citizenship.
