Used to be for a simple Sunday dinner, the operative phrase was "let's go out for a biscuit." But it is pretty easy to do it at home with good frozen biscuits. Easier to bake than make just four biscuits. I use the same pan to cook the Westwater Country ham and the scrambled eggs. One pan dinner.

The real unanswered question is how much our crooked president is profiting from all these undeserved pardons. If you are trying to stop drug smuggling, why pardon a drug kingpin unless for profit.

I miss the days when our driveway was full during the holiday season. From when we moved back to the US in 1987 until my mother's death in Mar. 2004 at the age of 93 plus , we never missed a Christmas or Thanksgiving with her. Sometimes I would make the 4hr round trip to get her to our house & back.

The hidden story behind this headline is that many more companies just closed their doors before they went bankrupt. I worked for one of those companies. I blame the chaotic changes in government policies and funding for our demise.

Yukon Gold potatoes, gravy, carrots, & pearl onions nicely complemented our pot roast. Brussels sprouts needed less balsamic vinegar & maple syrup. The chuck roast weighed about as much as the standing rib roast we had five years ago but was twice as expensive. My wife make the best gravy anywhere.

The meal was on the table at noon. It will serve as the only meal until Christmas dinner. It was a big breakfast that I might need some exercise to get hungry. We had cheese grits, country ham, fried eggs for me, scrambled for Glenda, sourdough toast from my latest baking, and red-eye gravy for me.

Back to 1936, my mother was visiting Douthit Herefords in St. Francis Kansas. Ranch might have been called something else that far back. Their advertising only says "over eighty years." I want to find out the connection between families. I believe a Douthit bought a home in Mt. Airy, NC near ours.

I have found the problem, 81% of republicans are so detached from reality they believe Trump puts the country's interests ahead of his own interests.

Paul Krugman on Substack quoting Trump.
"One year ago, our country was dead. We were absolutely dead. Our country was ready to fail. Totally fail. Now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. And that’s said by every single leader that I’ve spoken to over the last five months."

My mother is the middle of this picture taken in 1936 in Kansas. On the same trip she visited Niagara Falls and the World's Fair in New York.

I am surprised that it is appropriate to name a class of battleships, The As_hole Class and to let someone who has sunk our ship of state have any part in the design of it.
