Disney/ABC have a responsibility to refuse to participate in corruption.

Kimmel must be reinstated. If Disney/ABC agree to this extortion then perhaps creatives + workers should consider collective action to push back. Same w/buying park + cruise tickets if they bow.

A government-sanctioned "truth arbiter" will soon arrive at CBS. Their role will be to ensure that journalists do not criticize this Administration or express views that conflict with its agenda.

This is a betrayal—not just of journalistic independence, but of the public trust. 🧵

I remember that day as when I went from longtime reader to subscriber. Recognizing the Union deepened the relationship with your staff, and also with your readers.
Thanks for your memory of this, @allegrak.bsky.social. I remember that day very well. I actually remember responding with an email. But I'm old and you're not. So there's a good chance your memory is better.

In 2018, the @talkingpointsmemo.com staff decided to unionize. The day we formally notified our EIC @joshtpm.bsky.social, we sat quietly at our cluster of desks, nervously waiting for his response. An hour or 2 later, after a few calls, Josh looked over and said something along the lines of, "Okay."

Let’s be clear: ICE injured and detained the president of SEIU California for peacefully observing.

ICE picked the wrong side. The wrong state. The wrong person. and the wrong union. David Huerta stood up. And now 750,000 SEIU workers are standing up behind him.
