What everyone should understand is that Donald Trump could just pay SNAP benefits so people don't go hungry.
He's choosing not to. He is choosing to appeal to SCOTUS. He is choosing cruelty.

Meme-boosted false nostalgia for past prosperity that didn’t exist are picturing the average 1950s experience as ads and sitcoms, the 1980s as Home Alone, don’t get that the Simpsons was parodying this, etc.
Sort of like how people thinking of the Middle Ages imagine themselves a knight or noble.

People wildly overestimate the economic security experienced by past generations. There's no period in American history where significant numbers of young people were just handed high paying jobs. Nostalgia for a time that never existed is a huge problem.
Why Nikki Haley’s son went radical: His generation inherited insecurity.
I profile Nalin Haley, a fascinating young man, who I believe will likely play an important role in conservative politics in years to come.

Reporter: Gives name of company.
Trump: You’re fake news. You’re terrible. I’m not calling on you anymore! You should be ashamed of yourself! This is why nobody watches you!
Then goes back to lying.
