It’s nothing but intentional mockery at this point.
*Right after* the UK, France, and Canada warned that they will take "concrete actions" if Israel does not de-escalate its violence in Palestine, Israel shoots at diplomats from those nations.
Incredible — After shooting at a group of diplomats from nearly *two dozen* countries, the Israeli military says it "regrets the inconvenience caused."

The diplomats were from China, Brazil, India, Russia, Japan, Canada, Mexico, France, Türkiye, Spain, Portugal, Jordan, the UK, Egypt, and more.

Good Board discussion today on Metro’s initial concepts on rail automation & regional bus priority. Automated rail systems are global standard to enhance safety, capacity, reliability, & cost efficiency & we will have a Business Plan in Dec. See slides: wmata.com/about/news/u...

We’re starting more robust conversations about advancing rail automation by investing in modern tech & infrastructure. Transitioning to full automation would mean fewer accidents & delays, & increased capacity. It’s already being used around the world to make transit BETTER!

This is major, and I'm shocked that it isn't being discussed more in the transit space.

IIRC no US transit agency has announced that they plan to convert their entire system to driverless automation (GoA4) w/ platform doors. Obviously this is subject to board approval, but exciting nonetheless.
Wow this aged well. WMATA proposed fully automating the whole system today and had a render for platform screen doors as part of today’s board meeting.

This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

This isn't the end though. Khalil can appeal and to my knowledge immigration judges cannot & do not consider constitutional arguments when making their ruling.

Justice for Khalil. The end of an independent judiciary will be our demise. We are all Khalil.

JFC. Protecting free speech & more specifically speech that criticizes the actions of the government is a "core American interest."

This is such a dystopian, dark day for the United States. I am so ashamed.

Long overdue, but exciting.

Hopefully this sets the stage for future automation. An investment that would require major funding from jurisdictional partners, but I’d love for @wmata.com & @wmatagm.bsky.social to set the standard by aggressively pursuing platform doors & CBTC w/ full ATO.

ATO on the Red Line has been a safety and efficiency success while saving time & money. Within the last three months, we’ve delivered 99.97% reliability related to servicing customers at station platforms. We are now ready to expand ATO to the Green Line & others in the future.

Wild. Right after Cory Booker went viral for speaking on the "wretched truth about America," he just voted to keep arming a government that just officially achieved The Deadliest Conflict Ever for Journalists & executed and buried 15 paramedics and their emergency vehicles
"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

A person who has been in the country since she was a child, mind you.
Unlike Mahmoud Khalil, she wasn’t even a leader or heavily involved in the protest movement! She just attended some of them.

So yeah, the US government is seeking to deport a person here on a green card since she was a child because she went to a protest. Joe McCarthy would be proud.
This is the latest person decreed by Marco Rubio to be a foreign policy threat and thus now subject to deportation:

This is so fucking wild
WHOA. On March 15, a Cornell PhD student with UK and Gambian citizenship, here on a student visa, filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn Trump's EO aimed at foreign students accused of "antisemitism.

Last night, the DOJ emailed asking him to come to ICE to be detained and put into removal proceedings.
March 21, 2025 at 5:46 PM
This is a textbook case example of why the DEM's deranged policy of "reaching across the aisle" never worked and never will work.

Dude's wife just got hauled away by ICE and he still can't get himself to criticize Trump. If that didn't turn him, then honestly nothing will.
