In the EU we have 22,236 'farms' with permits for > 40k for 🐔, >2K for fattening 🐷

Imo, in these cases we are talking about factories and not about farms. Factories where billions of sentient animals are exploited to squeeze the biggest amount of profit out of them.

Great work @AGtivist_agency!
🚨 First-of-its-kind data by @AGtivist_agency reveals how mega-farms are taking over in the EU, while small-medium farms are closing.

So much for the promised ''sustainable farming''.

Very hopeful to see support for this from Commissioner @christophehansen.bsky.social and from Mep's from EPP to the Left and everything in between💪

@spietikainen.bsky.social points out that public procurement is a key blind spot and a low hanging fruit to improve sustainable diets and higher animal welfare. #agrifood

@cristinaguarda.bsky.social justly points out that from a food autonomy perspective it is crucial to support EU 🧑‍🌾 to produce enough and healthy food for 🇪🇺 citizens and we should deprioritize producing animal proteins of which many are destined for third countries. #agrifood#FoodnotFeed

🍟🤳Denmark announces that it will ban unhealthy food marketing to children under the age of 15.

This comes after tireless campaigning by @beuc.eu 🇩🇰member @forbrugerraadet.bsky.social to better protect children from persuasive unhealthy food marketing including by #influencers

Very promising @christophehansen.bsky.social stresses again the importance to introduce the same animal welfare requirements for products produced inside the EU and products coming from third countries.

Crucial for animal welfare and key for a level playing field for EU farmers.
At today’s @euractiv.com conference Agri commissioner @christophehansen.bsky.social underlines the importance of reciprocity on #animalwelfare for both agricultural producers + NGOS.

Our @beuc.eu survey showed indeed that this is very important to consumers too 👇

If no ECI ever results in policy outcomes, "people will stop believing in the process & potentially in democracy as well,” said the @ombudsman.europa.eu at our joint event w/ @thegoodlobby.bsky.social.

She made it clear that citizens expected more from the @ec.europa.eu on the #EndtheCageAge ECI.

Congrats to @eeb.org and Green Transition Denmark for organizing the Depolarising debate on the Protein Shift for a Resilient Future today 💪💚

If we want future generations to have biodiverse oceans full of life. We, EU citizens need to drastically reduce our fish intake.

The best thing you could do for the ocean is to stop consuming fish and seafood altogether.

EU officials and MS's should prioritize protecting our oceans better.
⚠️ Today is #EndOfFishDay in the EU🐟 As of today, the EU has theoretically exhausted its domestic seafood production for the year & from now until the end of 2025 will rely on imported fish & other seafood products. #RethinkFisheries Read our #PressRelease 👉 seas-at-risk.org/press-releas...

Very exiting for the Terra Madre Europe event from the 22nd until the 24th of June organized by @slowfoodhq.bsky.social.

It will be the opportunity for agroecological farmers and policy makers to start a constructive dialogue and showcase their products and methods to the Brussels bubbel.

Déjà vu? @ec.europa.eu is yet again slashing the few green measures in EU agricultural policy❗ But such “simplifications” will hinder, not help farmers as degraded ecosystems fail to provide the resilience needed to withstand the impacts of the climate, nature, and pollution crisis.

Marine Le Pen is kwaad?

Punt.1/2
