Who killed the strategic dialogue? This is the question @mep Clergeau asked in the closing statement of this event. He is right to call for the revival of this consensus!

Strong intervention by @eeb.org
during the panel on agriculture for the future. They stressed the need to move away from factory farming of animals as it is terrible for farmed animals welfare, hurts our environment and threatens our strategic autonomy on inputs like feed and fertilizer imports.

Very cool as well to learn from the Vegetarian Society of Denmark on the Danish plant based food action plan and from the Copenhagen Food System Center on how they used public procurement to reach a baffling 90% organic offer in their public kitchens 👏

Pierre-Marie Aubet shared his vision on the future of livestock during the Livestock Excellence workshop today.

He shared this slide to highlight that the amount of animal protein we consume on average is significantly too high in relation to a healthy diet.

Sadly, 🇮🇹 Min. Lollobrigida answered a q on the importance of food innov exactly as expected...

'Innovation is good, but as long as it goes hand in hand with traditional agriculture, we don't want to waste taxpayers' money on creating meat in labs.'

Fear of innovation is not the vision we need!

Generational renewal panel: Erika Olsen, swedish organic farmer, shared why so many young farmers go organic: they care for the future of the soil 🌱, love mixing tradition & innovation ⚖️, and are passionate about producing healthy, nature-friendly food 🌍

Supporting organic=>supporting young farmers
