During your evening commute home, do have a read of my analysis delving into why Zack Polanski has channeled Nigel Farage's comms strategy ... and how Britain's eco-warriors are reaping the rewards.👇
My latest @politico.eu piece: Zack Polanski couldn't be further away from Nigel Farage politically.

But they've more in common than either cares to admit — articulate communicators with punchy messages, surging membership numbers & rising poll ratings.

Not sure any song could come closer than this to how grief really feels. The strange, after the fact conversations with the person you've lost. The mundane, heartbreaking little details that snag you.

Even the fog of the production gets at that out-of-body feeling.

At some point last week, my mum decided to take her own life. I am pretty lost for words.

I will be away from journalism for a short while, focusing on my children. They bring me a lot of hope.

Thank you for all the kind messages, they mean a lot.

The Home Office insists the transition to a digital-only system of immigration status is going smoothly. For @politico.eu I ask: if the department is so confident, why won't it publish evidence to back that up?

MP Zarah Sultana resigned from Labour with an X post announcing she would “co-lead the founding of a new party” with Jeremy Corbyn.

Curiously, Corbyn has yet to address what sounded like the quickest split in left-wing party political history.

One mystery of Keir Starmer is: why is a man who does things like this, who writes handwritten notes to people he worked with but didn't know well, or for people he met briefly in the CPS, quite *SO* bad at talking to and cultivating MPs?

Particularly bad idea since ministers at public events are incredibly dull.

The four words that strike dread when they appear on a conference agenda: “Keynote speech by minister”. Time for a coffee and to see who might be hanging around the corridors looking for a chat.

It means more closed govt & worse policy decisions-the opposite of what ministers say they want

So Starship Ship 36 just detonated *before* the static fire test - fueled and waiting for the test. Looks like the top tank lets go and sets off the whole stack. It would be bad enough if it let go during the static fire test, but it just blew up. And it's cooking off the fuel tanks on the pad.
