The carbon impact of traveling this way is dizzying to me. The single highest emission activity I do is a flight to Europe every year or two and I feel very guilty about it, doing stuff like this regularly is obscene conspicuous carbon consumption.
Scrolling IG a while back, I found an influencer whose whole thing is taking solo day trips from NYC to Cairo, Italy, Paris, etc. It's a ridiculous notion in 40 different ways. It turns out to be the maximally absurd version of a shift in how a lot of Americans travel slate.com/technology/2...
This New Travel Trend Is Absurd and Exhausting. You Might Want to Give It a Try.
In the age of remote work, Instagram reels, and shrinking PTO, the one-day international trip is becoming both absurd and strangely relatable.

The thing about Cuomo is that he doesn't live here, hasn't lived here in decades, and has no clue what people like about New York City. Do not rank him.
The city's car-free open streets are funded for just one more year under Mayor Adams's proposed budget — but the current front-runner in the race to succeed him won't commit to the program.

The cowards at Paul Weiss own this most of all, but they are joined in disgrace by Milbank, Willkie Farr, and Skadden. Trump suggested there are other firms that have agreed to debase themselves, but did not reveal the names.
Trump claims it’s proven that the 2020 election was rigged, citing the fact that law firms are giving him money

As a former associate, this is completely unsurprising.
And here is another cowardly law firm that folded. That makes 4.
MILBANK LLP
Another law firm capitulates amid Trump’s pressure campaign.

Milbank LLP has agreed to a deal with Trump, per a post on Trump’s Truth Social account.

Michigan’s season has ended in the Sweet Sixteen.

The Wolverines went 27-10 in Dusty May’s first season. They finished tied for second in the Big Ten and won the Big Ten Tournament Championship.

If a law firm won't risk everything to defend itself, what makes you think it will risk anything to defend you?

My advice: Find a law firm that will not back down and will never bend a knee.
