I think it made it into print when you printed it, on purpose, in your newspaper, that you're responsible for. I think that's how
We are looking into how this made it into print as we speak. It is not editorial content and was not created by, or approved by, the Sun-Times newsroom. We value your trust in our reporting and take this very seriously. More info will be provided soon.

this guy is a world class asshole
Vance's Easter visit to Rome clogged its streets with a 40-vehicle entourage. He also demanded the Coliseum be closed so he and his family could tour it alone. Tourists who properly booked slots in advance got screwed.

He's apparently the first to make that demand. Then he didn't bother to show up.

Blocking anti David Hogg ppl on sight. I don’t have strong feeling about it, but anyone who make their politics right now, at this political moment, about getting mad at David Hogg truly freaks me out.

Also blocking any ai slop on sight.

John Kerry, John McCain, Pat Leahy, and innumerable others spent *decades* building trust through diplomatic contact, including hundreds of millions in American funding to clean up chemical spills and unexploded ordinance. all torched overnight by a senile madman
Our burgeoning genuine friendship with Vietnam (to the extent nations can be friends, naturally) was one of the greater feats of American diplomacy in this century, & to see it so reduced is yet another outrage

The lies Pam Bondi and Stephen Miller just told about Abrego Garcia on national TV...

...I have no words for them. I am sick of calling things obscene or deranged. These are obviously evil people charting an obviously evil course for our country.

In any authoritarian regime, there are people who make a livelihood by rationalizing the actions of the leadership, making them palatable to a general audience by offering analogies with reasonable theoretical statements. Their profesisonal title is usually something like "chief propagandist"

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

For me, the most incredible artefacts from the ancient world are the letters people wrote on clay tablets and sent to one another over thousands of years in Mesopotamia, going back to more than 5,000 years ago.

They contain recognisable humanity, warmth and humour. Here's a thread of my favourites.
