Saw a bunch of posts wondering how the App Store logo works (is it just sticks??), so I made a little 3D printed visualization of the 3 tilted app icons that come together to make it, it's really quite clever!

Makes for a fun desk ornament too ☺️

Did you know both the App Store and Shortcuts logos are actually made up of 3D icons? Christian Selig has printed a model to demonstrate.

Portland needs a downtown/midtown Streetcar loop to connect the Waterfront, Pioneer Courthouse Square, and Powell's.

Start at Salmon Street Springs, connect to the main Streetcar line, and back through the food cart corridor.

Make Downtown Portland one destination, not three.

Jason Snell: Shortcuts Is Not Really That Friendly – Matthew Cassinelli
When discussing a demo of Misty Studio on the M5 MacBook Pro, Jason Snell compared it to Shortcuts as similarly friendly-but-unfriendly tool – a fair criticism.

Is it just me or do none of these keyboard shortcuts work in #Shortcuts for Mac?

They took away the Command modifier and these just don't work at all now.

Not gonna lie this is exactly why Shortcuts exists and why it’s dumb that more brands aren’t adopting Apple Intelligence.

Please let me get to my goal and move on.
Tech startup idea: instead of starting your car with your key, you get in, turn on the display panel, enter your password, get your phone out, open the authenticator app, enter your pin, enter the timed passcode, then open the start menu, then helpdesk, then "request engine start", then submit a tic

Basic Apple Guy wallpapers are now featured & bundled into Widgetsmith! 🤝

Kinda wild to say this… but my work is now featured in Widgetsmith! Huge honour to be part of an app that’s on millions of homescreens! I'm grateful beyond words.

🎨 In iOS 26, you can now use the Shortcuts app with Apple’s Cloud model to generate ALT-friendly captions for any photo.

Great for accessible social media posts!

One benefit of App Intents is standardizing the interaction paradigm for all apps, while allowing the specialization to shine via snippets.

Also new this year is a literal Undo feature
In a world of hyperscale grifts without any undo buttons, the idea of amplifying "dark patterns" (and why I stopped tweeting about consequence design) feels inadequate.

Tricky UIs are just the beachhead to a tidal wave of awfulness we don’t yet know how to reckon with, but need to.
