We had our first #NeurodiversityNetwork GLOBAL call today. I say Global, because we’ve had local chapter meetings to plan for 2026 the past while and this was a “come along today, we’ve booked a room for this thing” and 3 of us boyos not knowing that we were then ON CAMERA for the event turned up 🤣

Want to know the impact of Oct being a new low in fossil fuel generation?
My #bev 9 seater Citroen averages less than 30kWh/100km, but taking that for simplicity and over constraining the worst BEV efficiency on the roads…
The average of 214gCO₂/kWh gives us,
What's (almost) as good as a new high in renewable generation? A new *low* in fossil fuel generation 🏭

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.

I love this bit: “Crean’s win caused a massive shock by winning” over the defending champ.

I see this lady daily, sometimes 2x a day running. This win has been nothing but sheer consistency and dedication. Nothing more.

Absolutely incredible performance and achievement, incredibly well deserved!
At 19 years old, Limerick student Ava Crean was the first Irish woman to cross the finish line at today’s Dublin Marathon.

Crean has become the youngest ever national title winner

Went to Ballina/Killaloe like I said I would. The old bridge is busy with people out walking, and a handful of cyclists. The new bridge is busy with walkers/runners/cyclists, mothers with kids on bicycles cycling the main road etc

It’s almost like build and they will come….

I’m 15 yrs working in the Semicon industry, did my BSc in IC engineering, so this is a very very cool statistic, the amount of effort to reduce silicon wafer thickness like this is very impressive and quite hard to explain with being really nerdy about it 🤣

In v v simple terms, it’s cheaper now!
‘Equipment makers are reducing polysilicon layer thickness to ~80 nm’

This means silicon cell thickness will have dropped by 80% since the year 2000. Means 80% less poly cost, 80% less energy usage - before considering other technological advances.

This is cool, a spot I don’t get to enough because traffic over this bridge, now closed to cars, was mental.

Might just be heading for a spin this weekend 👌
The old bridge that links the twin towns of Killaloe in Co Clare and Ballina in Co Tipperary will close permanently to vehicular traffic from Friday and operate as a pedestrian and cycle link across the River Shannon

40 additional CCS/CHAdeMo connectors have gone live in Ireland in the last month, but @thommcg.bsky.social has done the sums and it’s predicted that we will hit 30+% *NEW* CCS connectors by the end of this year! Phenomenal growth and a clear indication that #EVsky is the way forward!
c.40 CCS / Chademo now live since mid-September, located in:
Dublin (Circle K Ireland, ESB ecars, & InstaVolt);
Cork, Kilkenny, Meath (ePower), &;
Cavan, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, & Wexford (EZO EV Charging).

Nothing too drastic for BEV in Budget 2026, good to see extensions to existing parts that help keep electrification affordable, and to keep existing grants and reliefs around for longer to keep the EV transition going!

#Busget2026 #EVsky
Budget 2026 is now out. A quick summary of EV relevant changes are:
- Extended 9% VAT on electric to 31/12/2030;
- Extended €5k VRT Relief to 31/12/2026;
- BIK OMV reduction of €30k in 2026, €15k in 2027, €2.5k in 2028, €0 thereafter;

It’s ‘competitive fishing’ in the style of Come Dine with Me / Four in a Bed 😐 come back KPop, all is forgiven

My own solar PV went in May 2023. In the first 7 months it saved me €900, and pricing had changed year on year for purchased elec, but I’m still saving around €1k a year minimum, 2024 had a savings of €1,160!

The problem of PHEVs having much higher real-world emissions has been discussed for five or six years now. The fact that the car industry hasn't published any real-world emissions results to the contrary tells me that they don't have any.
NEW: Plug-in hybrids now emit five times, on average, what official tests claim, and the gap between real-world emissions and test results continues to grow.
