Amazing!! I have recent work showing conservation across animals in HPC ( www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... )-- would love to see it across species as well!!

**The ultimate systems #neuroscience paper!**

Recording every spike, every stimulus, every action during person's first half of life to predict second half?

The future of papers and neuro, are we almost there yet? That would great discussion to have online.

Imagining the ultimate systems neuroscience paper
A growing body of papers on systems neuroscience and on giant simulations of neural circuits involves data beyond the point that anyone can reasonably understand end to end. Looking ahead, “paper-bots...

the rapid transition of academics off x (despite temporarily reducing reach/followers) makes you wonder what’s stopping us from ending the for-profit, closed access publishing industry. it’s, like…. we can just do it? or if not, interesting to consider what the inertial differences are.

Causation is central to thinking in #neuroscience but is a complex, nuanced issue. We wrote this piece in 2022 having in mind expansions to full papers but not there yet. But definitely an important question for conceptual development

Neuroscientists often collect whole-brain gene expression cell count data. But its hard work and expensive, so the datasets usually have n~10 animals for maybe ~100 brain regions. Bad regime for trad stats!

We developed a better Bayesian method for these data: elifesciences.org/reviewed-pre...

Here, we show that dopamine and serotonin signals form a gas-brake system for reward in the mammalian brain
