Trans people have not "weaponized" our rights--we are defending our rights against an effort to eradicate us from public life.
While there's no moral equivalency between those two sides—the demonization by the right is much worse—both extremes are wrong and add more heat than light. Dems should express disgust at how both sides have weaponized the issue, signaling that we want to resolve, not exploit.
