Polish Jewish woman Ala Gertner was born in Będzin in 1912. She was incarcerated in Auschwitz in August 1943. She worked in 'Union' munition factory from where together with other women she smuggle gunpowder to Sonderkommando resistance. She was hanged #OTD 6 January 1945.

On this day in 1933, Minnie D. Craig (R) made history when she became Speaker of the North Dakota State House of Representatives. She was the first non-temporary female Speaker of the House in any U.S. state. She held the office until Jan. 8, 1935.

In #Auschwitz from August 1944.
He was transferred to Groß-Rosen, Flossenbürg & Natzweiler-Struthof.
He was liberated on 23 April 1945 near Donaueschingen.

He became a doctor.
Today he turns 100.

29 December 1923 | Hungarian Jewish woman Lily Ebert was born in Bonyhád.

In July 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz. She was then transferred to an ammunition factory near Leipzig where she was liberated.

She passed away in October 2024, at the age of 100.

He was deported to #Auschwitz from Beaune-la-Rolande on 5 August 1942. He was murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

We are not at war with Venezuela, yet. The boats are civilian craft. The U.S. criminal code does not maintain a death penalty for drug smuggling. Due process is required before conviction or sentence.

All of the 80 people killed thus far are wanton murders slain under illegal orders. All of them.

29 November 1929 | A Czech Jew, Tibor Taglicht, was born. As a refugee he went to Norway.

He was deported to #Auschwitz with his sister Vera in March 1943. He was selected as able to work. He asked to stay with his younger sister. They were both murdered in a gas chamber.
