This happened in the UK. It happened there and not here because there, women were losing jobs and being harassed by police for refusing to accept "TWAW" as fact, to put it in a nutshell.

And here it is. My apartment complex wants me to sign onto the scam of Petscreening.com when lease renews. Instead of me just showing them Vaxx records, $30 and unpaid labor for me to hand over personal data on me & my pet and what veterinarian and products I use. 🦞

PSA: Don’t spread misinformation about Trump signing an order that gives only him and the Attorney General the power to decide the law. The Constitution guarantees separation of powers, and that’s what matters. Stay focused on that reality, not helping them spread propaganda.

The "left" internet adopted the shooter dude as a public hero in less time than Wolfowitz and Donald Rumsfeld got on CNN to blame Iraq for 9/11. Most people will never see the subterfuge at work, even as they are part of it.

It's time to jail tech workers and leaders for data theft. They are sending wrecking balls through economies and societies, without our consent.
"In private meetings, [Meta executives and lawyers] weighed the possibility of putting copyrighted works into their A.I. model, even if it meant they would be sued later, according to recordings of the meetings, which were obtained by The Times."

You quoted that but left out the real banger:

”Meta […] debated how to get more data for A.I. development and discussed buying a major publisher like Simon & Schuster.”

If an AI company buys a publisher that holds the rights to millions of copyrighted works, those authors may be legally screwed.

When a Northeast outfitter bought every boat they could get in COVID, and have a few left over, for wholesale price, AND no sales tax AND you have a hybrid and a hotel discount. And family two hours away. Two great birds = great road trip.

It took something like 3 deaths before Nashville could regulate the scooters. 1 young boy wanders off Broadway and now we have to barricade the Cumberland. A, oh, way to go. 🦞

The venture capital business model appears to be to buy a racehorse, carve a steak off its ass every week for Sunday lunch - after all, the investors deserve a return - then eventually sell it for catfood and glue because somehow it stopped winning races.

Am of the opinion current Titans PSL holders should receive credit for new stadium PSLs in proportion to the increase of Shelby St property values since that PSL was purchased. 🦞 Seems like the fair thing to do.

I'm sure that it never crosses any GOP mind, the way to get the next civil war they want so very badly, is to become so odious that otherwise reasonable people will be forced to take up arms.

Don't tailgate. Don't tailgate. Don't tailgate.

As they say in deer country in da Norf, "don't out-drive your headlights."

short: don't drive faster than you can see the hazard and react.

It was always a big joke in radio management. "If we could only get rid of the jocks. ..." Well, ya did. And no one and nothing you've replaced us with does as good a job. The algorithm really doesn't care if it ever makes someone's day.
the other thing about this is we lost about a quarter of newsroom jobs between ~2000 and 2010. big thanks to Facebook and Google for innovating all the journalism away, real big net improvement for humanity across the board

You’d expect the rate at which newspapers eliminated jobs would taper off to exponential decay at some point, but no. They just keep firing people like they expect to go to 0 humans employed by 2030

Lotta reports about landed bna planes waiting hours for a gate. No idea whether it was a lack of plows or personnel but it's not a good look for an "IT" city. I did see workers on the ground with shovels around the parking garages.
