Just this coyote, you know? (Or dollar store wolf, according to some.)

He/Him/Good Boy. Old enough (to be your dad…)

I live in the state that’s shaped really weird. No, not that one, the other one.

Are you gonna eat that?
People will be rightfully outraged on Bluesky when Ring, etc. does something outrageous… but some of those comments are like the old USENET paranoiacs.

You just know there is something undiagnosed or untreated at work.

Don’t stand too close to the microwave while wearing your tinfoil hats, folks.

I’m sure it’s been posted, but Discord is just a wrapper around a webapp.

And the first rule of webdev is you never trust the client.

Bad Bunny’s halftime show makes me think we could have inconvenient shrubbery constantly getting in the way of ICE agents.

Free PC upgrade? Don’t mind if I do.

Friend was rebuilding his friend’s gaming rig because the old one “didn’t POST”. Was told to just toss the bad parts.

So I got an Asus TUF-H370 Pro WiFi board with an i7 in it, 16 GB DDR4, and a GTX 1660 OC 6GB.

The “no POST” was a from failed BIOS update…

Be like Morty and take time to pick out the right nose for the day.
Monday.

The only way out is through.

Wash up and get ready for the grind.

Oh no.

The default notification sound in Linux Mint is the same as the Sheikah Sensor.

Can’t find the shrine and it
Just.
Won’t.
STOP.

Well now that’s interesting. @saturnnailya.bsky.social I don’t know what you said, but it made DOL break the law:

iOS PIP is cool and all but why can I do batshit stuff like positioning the floating video at odd angles, just to have it snap to an edge when I let go?

Like, they coded that in. You have to use two fingers and twist vs. pinch.

The only Linux distro that seems to do what I need (running cemu well, and streaming from a CableCARD tuner while it’s still supported by Fios) is Ubuntu 25.10

Tried Bazzite, but the immutable rootfs made dkms for the ctn91xx kernel module a no-go.

Tried Pop! OS, and COSMIC breaks Vulkan stuff.

Speaking of TikTok… there aren’t many I follow on there, but I do follow Weave and her family…

uhh… what’s with that search suggestion?
January 27, 2026 at 4:54 PM
Now that TikTok has gotten even more invasive (and less reliable) I see people talking about UpScrolled.
And I’ll say this: alternatives are great but be wary. Any platform that is app only is hiding something, be it an insecure API, excessive tracking, etc… they don’t want you looking too closely.

Please tell me why Nintendo, in their infinite wisdom, has not remastered Twilight Princess for Switch/Switch 2 or even made it part of the NSO expansion pass GameCube library?

So dolphin it is… and let me tell you it looks really good with some antialiasing turned on.

Before anyone panics:

You have to opt to share your footage, for each individual request made in your area, via the Ring Neighbors app. If you don’t have that app or don’t approve it, Flock doesn’t get anything.

The previous thing Ring did was opt-in as well, but once you did it was perpetual.

Oh joy, btrfs shit the bed on my NAS. I think docker blew it up.

It’s still readable, but I’m getting bad I/O hangs on write. And it’s not a physical drive failing, md is not complaining.

Time to break the RAID 1, reformat one disk ext4, rsync everything over, re-RAID it.

Geek stuff dump incoming:

So Verizon finally let me know they’ll be turning off the RF overlay/QAM/CableCARD service at some point and going straight IPTV. Of course this is not open IPTV, it’s all encrypted “you have to rent our boxes and use our crappy router” shit.

I’m not paying for that…

Constantly fixing stuff at the rescue.

Why constantly?
