What a time to be living in...

Five years ago I thought Cuomo was effectively the undisputed King of New York, and now the @nytimes.com is effectively comparing him to expired bread. #Election2025

The thing is if you don’t deal with the complexities of the IDC and Cuomo’s seven (!!) years of support for it, you’re also dodging or ignoring facts. It is *the* story of most of Cuomo’s time in office, and how he was able to abuse state power to run the MTA into the ground, for example.
But pretending that Cuomo didn't play a key role in advancing big progressive policy ideas means dodging or ignoring facts. It also means not dealing with the complexities of politics and of human behavior. /End

Today-Trump and Musk endorsed Cuomo-Cuomo is the candidate of the billionaires. Mamdani is fighting for affordability for all of us-particularly working families. I disagree with ZM on Israel but I want a Mayor who fights for the strugglers & strivers- not for those who are taking away our freedoms

I don't see how any Republican watching this debate is going to decide that they are going to vote for Andrew Cuomo given how Curtis Sliwa is performing. #nycdebate

Cuomo just clarified that he meant ONLY the last four years because of Hochul, a person he only minutes ago said he could work well with because he had picked her as his LG (though tried to ditch her at least twice)
Cuomo, speaking about how he'd deal with state elected leaders as mayor, says "the city has been getting screwed by the state" (quite ironic, given Cuomo was governor until 2021).

This means 13WHAM in Rochester won’t air the show. Sinclair needs FCC approval to acquire more stations.
Sinclair Won’t Air Jimmy Kimmel’s Return on Its 38 ABC Stations
The preemption means that 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will remain unavailable for some of the U.S. despite its return after a nearly week-long suspension.

Again, worth pointing out that Andrew Cuomo was directly in charge of the MTA for 10 years, and he could have done this at any time during those 10 years. He didn't. Why should we believe he'll do it now?

This is not an India Walton situation. Sure, there are some loser hater holdouts. But there is no lock on keeping Mamdani down. He’s got the DNC, the Manhattan Dems, the comptroller, the AG, the dean of the NYS congressional delegation, NY mag, the unions &—most importantly—the voters.
The Manhattan Democratic Party has formally voted to endorse Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor: manhattandemocrats.org/2025/07/manh...

Editorial: Islamophobic attacks will get someone killed
Republican rhetoric aimed at Zohran Mamdani is ugly and racist, even by today's debased standards.

FYI - we mapped the collapse of Cuomo’s base, comparing his 2018 gubernatorial primary with 2025. Not 100% apples-to-apples, but the shift is striking: bsky.app/profile/srom...
If Cuomo makes an active run in the general election, I wanted to get a clearer picture of how much he lost support from his base since the last time he ran in NYC (2018 primary vs Nixon) & how much Mamdani ate into that base. Maps below now use same layout, color scheme, & ranges.
