On Thanksgiving, I want to say I am grateful to all of you who read my stuff. At this point in my life and career, my teaching and researching days are over; all I do is write, and it's a great honor when anyone takes time out of their day to hear what I have to say. 🙏

I love the classics: I will go back to Fallout and XCOM2 all day. But I loved Baldur's, and will do a replay when Patch 8 is out, and I'm probably going to do more FlightSim and stuff when I get the new rig.

a lot of it is just that dems are friends to dynamism, new industries, etc, but enemies to entrenched business interests—and info tech has evolved from a new dynamic sector to an entrenched business. Their industry becomes closer to car dealerships so their politics come closer to car dealers

I don’t pay attention to this enough to know the specific alleged ways tech has been treated like shit by Dems, but this reads pretty nakedly like they wanted impunity in exchange for campaign contributions, which means they were ending up on Trump’s side eventually no matter what.
