Very much recommend this event- I have the book and it’s wonderful. Darren and Karen are both incredibly knowledgeable about children’s books and address the issue of diversity critically and in much depth well beyond representation.
How do we build a diverse curriculum that addresses harmful material in historical literature?

Random question and then some: anyone know Alnmouth well enough to recommend places to meet and work? Ideal midway spot between me (Chesterfield) and key colleague (Glasgow)…with added natural beauty as a bonus.

Research suggests that our senses activate between 24-26 weeks of gestation, with the sound of our mothers’ heartbeats and voices among the very first things we experience as humans. 🧵

Thank you to @martingalway.bsky.social for hosting such a wonderful event.

As @tracybrabinmayorwy.bsky.social declared so proudly at the opening of the conference, 'Creativity is bubbling under the cracks of the pavement in Bradford'.

My visit to the City of Culture was brief but wonderful. 🌟

I had a brilliant time day with the National Literacy Trust. Fantastic conference organised by @martingalway.bsky.social Tracey Brabin, Jeffrey Boakye, Matt Goodfellow, Jonny Walker and many more. A thread right through about literacy as a tool for social justice and the right to authentic voices.
