The amount of parents reading to their babies and young children is decreasing. I don't _know_ the reason, but my guess is a mixture of long working hours and the increased use of digital. Anything we can do to encourage parents back to libraries is a good thing. We need to support our libraries.

It’s beautiful! We had the excellent Patrice Baldwin come in to work with us last year and she took us to Story Land. This would be absolutely perfect to have alongside that sort of visit. Poems we know, poems we’re writing now and poems waiting to be written so they can have wings to fly.

I do hope that exponents of 'no excuses' (who later claimed never to have been exponents of this stuff) will now understand what we were all warning against. These rigid systems run counter to inclusive practice.

@cathamclarke.bsky.social Great talk about your very original book. It’s a wonderful concept. We support primary and KS3 in staging literary access starting early. That will eventually improve A level and Uni take up as love of English starts young! Thanks!
