Library worker and writer (no, nothing you would have read - unless you're in one of my writing groups!)
I asked Alexa to play indie pop. It is only playing The Smiths. Four songs so far, all by The Smiths.

I have one more reading session left in The Killer Question by @janicehallett.bsky.social. Can't wait to find out how it all wraps up!

#HiddenBooksGame

Needed hints for two of them and there were a couple of books I've never heard of but I made it in the end, phew!

Ahhh we're at that time of year when UK firms pretend any random Friday is Black Friday so they can put random sales on, gotcha.

On Saturday I didn't buy myself an advent calendar. I bought a large assorted box of Lindor instead, with the plan of having one every day in the run up to Christmas.

Let's just see how that works out.

Went to see Richard Ashcroft at Co-op Live. It was a great show but my seat was so high up I was scared 😳

I don't suppose anyone here is overly familiar with Adobe Fonts licensing, but here goes 😅

Is it permitted within the license to send photoshop files with active fonts to clients who have commissioned work from you?

Getting through the jetlag by playing old favourite The Long Dark and catching up on the TV I missed while away, whenever I get a chance. But now, work.

OK, we're approaching the end of today's lovely #buyastrangerabook day.

I've had a couple of donations this week so I've got about £30 of free books to offer out.

If you'd like something in particular, get in touch

When everyone she loves has motive for a murder, a PR exec who's always tried to do the 'right thing' must decide how far she'll go to protect them. Especially the man she's in love with. The dead woman's husband.

Have been in the US for half term, got back this morning and am about to have a cup of Yorkshire decaff - almost two weeks since I last had one!
I did enjoy the arcades and pinball while I was away and the view of the Great Smoky Mountains which I visited for part of the trip.

I have a story on Hannah's bookshelf sometime in this hour. I'm trying to listen but am in a bad internet area so might have to listen to the recording later!

The UK government hasn't ruled out weakening copyright law in low-regulation zones to benefit AI companies.

They say they "intend" IP rights to be a red line for these zones. But they are "seeking views" on this.

Please make your views known!

Dear Lit Mags,

I love that there is a Lit Submission Calls feed here on Blue Sky (so convenient!), but there are so many calls that don't show up there.

Did you know that if you use the #submissionscall hashtag, your post will show up on that feed?

Love, someone who visits that feed frequently.

I have done my jobs.

I'm one of those people who doesn't like the sound of their own voice. Especially recorded. I sometimes wonder if it sounds better in other people's ears than it does in my own.
Might cut my hair today.
I did my daughter's a couple of days ago and it was my best cut yet which means I will probably make a big mess of my own. And I am going out tonight. Could be a mistake. Also I have two stories to record. I really must do that today.

Everyone should make reading a part of their life. Apartment blocks with gyms should have library rooms as well. Workplaces should offer everyone a 15 minute reading break.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat
