Needed hints for two of them and there were a couple of books I've never heard of but I made it in the end, phew!

Have been in the US for half term, got back this morning and am about to have a cup of Yorkshire decaff - almost two weeks since I last had one!
I did enjoy the arcades and pinball while I was away and the view of the Great Smoky Mountains which I visited for part of the trip.

I'm ready to go out (although it's not time yet). New dress!

It will often dangle an inch or two below the frame but it is hiding at the moment.

Such a good night watching Tom Smith from Editors in Lancaster, last night. Had an amazing view from the second row. Loved the new solo songs and can't wait for the album to come out in December!

Spotted on my walk in Greater Manchester, UK this morning, some kind of a bush cricket. Isn't she lovely?

I tried to identify her but I'm no expert and can't tell if she is meconema thalassinum or meconema meridionale. Or even if she is definitely female! If you know, please tell me 😁

Visited the elegant Chorlton Library yesterday for the @adamjfarrer.bsky.social Broken Biscuits book event with @stevenkedie.bsky.social doing a fine job interviewing. I could have listened to you both for much longer! Came away with a signed copy of this handsome book I am greatly enjoying reading

Saw a giant, glowing, purring, tail-gently-waving, cat.

Lots of moss and some river and bridge.

Not sure what this building originally was but I really loved the moss on it.

Pictures from Inverary Castle's armoury display.
August 11, 2025 at 5:47 PM
My husband took these two photos in the garden of Inverary Castle. I took a lot of photos inside the house, mainly of old armour etc. so those will appear at some point.

Abandoned house we came across while out for a walk. If you look closely at image one, there's a face in the lower window.

I've been on holiday visiting Scotland this week. The storm at the beginning of the week put a bit of a dampener on the trip but overall we had a really good time. I'll probably add photos over the next day or so.

Jigsaw is complete but I still have 22 of the 101 book titles left to figure out.

Had a nice time in St. Anne's. Played the arcade machines on the pier and walked the promenade. Had an ice cream 🍦

Work tomorrow so I'm playing a little pinball tonight. My husband is still working on the setup but it runs fine for now. Cabinet will be the tricky bit.

It's time to let parents of primary age children in England, Scotland and Wales know they should check with their local library to see if they will be running the Summer Reading Challenge.

Kids read 6 books over the summer holiday, earn stickers and will receive a medal and certificate at the end.
