My life is based on a true story. West Galway once, Waterford for a while, Dublin for decades. Today is my favourite day.

A German version of “the early bird catches the worm” translates to “the morning hour has gold in its mouth.” A Czech version is “he who does not laze around, gets the greens.” But my favourite is the French “the first cow to the meadow licks up all the dew” (imo, a vache improvement on the others).

It's true! Julia Roberts will be narrating Leonard and Hungry Paul.

She read the book when it came out and her agent got in touch to say she really liked it. But I never thought things would go this far.

Delighted.

Sorry to see Declan O'Driscoll has deactivated his account. That's a quarter of the people whose posts I always checked out gone.
Must remember to include restoration of good-Twitter on my Christmas present list.

An engrossing search for understanding and meaning in a single, brilliant poem. A Crumpled Swan is a thoughtful and irrefutable demonstration of the power of art. DC is such a knowledgeable and companionable writer.

Really enjoyed it. @foggynotions has certainly increased the sum total of human happiness. It would be good, before the money runs out, for @artscouncilireland.bsky.social to fund even a one-off issue of the Foggy Notions magazine (Christmas special?)
This is a lovely radio doc about how a young Leagues O'Toole grew up to be @foggynotions.bsky.social, with all the side jobs and interests that brought. Seamlessly produced by Ray Cuddihy who worked his magic in the background and added perfect musical interludes.
