One chapter down, five to go! 🎉

Am I going to get it done before Monday? Possibly! Am I going to get it so close to done that I can finish it out in December? Much more likely! 😂

Also, AO3 only lets you save drafts for so long... so it'll get done by Tue 16 Dec 2025, come heck or high water!

WHAT IF

THERE WAS *ONLY* PIE

A DAY OF PIE

BREAKFAST PIE

SAVORY PIE

SWEET PIE

SOME SORT OF ALCOHOLIC DRINKABLE PIE

PIESGIVING WE WOULD CALL IT AND THE WORLD WOULD THANK US IN PRAYER AND SONG AND IDEALLY PIE
WELCOME TO THE DAY OF MANY CALORIES

YOU SHALL CONSUME

YOU SHALL INGEST

YOU SHALL HEAVE YOUR SWOLLEN BODY ONTO THE COUCH MOANING AS YOU DO SO

BUT WAIT

THERE'S STILL PIE

This got me thinking….how do we as a society normalize pumpkin pie as a breakfast option at restaurants year round? Who will be the change we want to see in the world?
It turns out Mina and I have identical pie takes (literally had home made pumpkin pie for breakfast this morning before kids woke up).
So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:

1. Pecan: Always good

2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.

3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up

The chapter in the HtN worldbook on the magical properties of plants/minerals/animals/etc. is now longer than most of the fanfiction I've ever written. I'm not sure if I should be impressed with myself or horrified. 😂

Reposting in case anyone on your shopping list is in dire need of some awesome octopi and you didn't know these existed!

(You should totally know they exist, because lo, they are awesome!)

((Even if I only admire them from afar because my house is already full of model horses 😅))

(I meant to quote post the XKCD comic, but reposted it instead... and discovered that you can't delete a report. Which is slightly annoying, but whatevs.)

I had a chance to hear Randall talk at CNU many years back and I am so happy for them in this distant parasocial way... but I'm still happy. ❤️

I am dust and spine,
A fold spilling words,
My history collected,
A bookcase life,
Petals among pages,
My summer days saved,
Memories lent,
Yet to be returned.

I'm down to the last six chapters of the Quirrell fanfic, most of which are outlined and some of which have the shadow of a rough draft already done.

I've got no idea if I can actually finish the rough draft this week, but I'm hopeful! (Almost done with 1 of 6 from this morning's writing). 🤞📝

I have all next week off (thanks to a contracting furlough at my work) so I've blocked Reddit and sketched out some creative projects that I'd like to work on.

Here's hoping I get some words on paper, paint on ponies, and code in games! 😁🤞

Ok palate cleanse time. In case you missed it, here's my most popular post ever
4 yrs ago today, a family member managed a truly spectacular own goal, splintered his domestic bliss, & in the process, united the world for a day.

On popular request, I shall now recreate the livetweet thread from that day

So gather around children, for this is the tale of The Rice Truck Saga

As artists it can feel like there's a pressure to make art faster, more generic, and marketable for a wide audience. Generating art is that idea to an extreme. I think we need to embrace niche art that has thought and care put into it. Not just for clients, but making something only for yourself.

This is a bot on GoodReads that has given out over 9000 one-star reviews.

And 12 5-star reviews.

I am now trying to figure out a) why there are no profile-reporting options in GR and b) if I can figure out who the author of the 5-stars are and if they are all the same person... 🕵️🤔🤖

A few selected sentences will typically suffice
