Audience culture is the worst it's ever been, I swear to god. People forgot how to act. I'm at the theater, trying to enjoy my show, which I've paid GOOD MONEY for, and these two old assholes are in the balcony heckling the life out of the poor bear onstage. Not letting him finish a single joke.

“passive-aggressive weirdos living in isolated weird places” man, let’s put this on the flag. After 7-8 years in NW BC I know it to be true.
people always stereotype Canadians as being polite, and its not true at all. We are passive-agressive weirdos who live in isolated weird places and the sooner we make peace with that the better

COVID-19 should have brought us together. Instead, it accelerated our turn towards toxic hyper-individualism.

On Remembrance Day, let's rediscover the importance of values like shared sacrifice and mutual interest -- and remember why it mattered.

In the age of selfishness, let’s rediscover our sense of shared sacrifice
Remembrance Day is a reminder of what we were willing to fight for in the past — and how much it mattered that we fought together.

Me: I’d like a shirt
Every single retailer: K here you go
Me: No this is cropped, I’d like a longer shirt, please
Retailers: Nope
Me: Why not?
R: You want a cropped shirt made of gossamer
Me: No, I don’t
R: Yes you do. You all do
Me: Should I just go fu-
R: You should definitely go fuck yourself

Hard to adequately express how important Casey’s writing on weight lifting and bodies has been for me, but two good tangible results are being more chill about having a body, and the ability to lift heavy things which often impresses people. Can’t wait to get my copy.
Today is the day! My book is out in the world. It’s not a friendly world for writing about science or women or especially women’s bodies right now. But I’m so proud to be telling a story that makes a certain type of person very, very angry. www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/casey...

Today marks 35 years since a gunman entered Polytechnique, separated the men from the women & shot 14 women to death.

It is now Canada's National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence against Women.

Threads suck on this app but going to try and include my thoughts here as possible : 🧵
