It's funny that I remember a Zits comic where a clueless dad literally burns a CD by setting it down on a radiator. I guess things have come full circle.
My favorite piece of content today.

A local bakery just posted this photo on Facebook. I’ve gotten stuff from her before. Nice older lady. I do not know if she made it but…it’s perfect. Perfect.

There is nothing fans are more enamored with than a movie that didn’t get made.

It is only potential. It exists only in your mind, where it always made the exact right choices. It didn’t violate your narrow sense of canon. It is only what you love about the franchise, and it can never fail you.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

Thread: I want to talk about journalism for a sec. In any enterprise, there's always a tension between covering what your readers care about and covering what you want them to care about. To do only the first is to pander; to do only the second...well, you'd better know your readers VERY well. >

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

I’ve been rewatching the Coen Bros filmography this month and while drawing a Barton Fink illustration, it struck me how much their films feel like Far Side cartoons: funny, strange, clever, yet frequently inscrutable. Anyway here’s a thread!
