Starting to watch "The Diplomat," and while the pilot episode had funny moments, it didn't prepare me for how much of a workplace comedy the series is.

It's very good at being that show, but I sorta miss the show I thought it was going to be in that first hour.

to be clear, i also do not think it is necessarily true that adopting a laundry list of progressive positions is an instant win either. i think you have to do the work of discovering what it is that voters want in a direct and engaged way. and i think that voters want moral leadership.
it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

I feel like if your game had a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" at launch in 2025, it's not an indie game.

as long as the Game Awards have high viewership numbers it's an open invitation for them to continue to say and do anything they want, ignore or deplatform anyone or anything they want, disrespect game developers as much as they want, etc. they don't have to even pretend to care.

I appreciate that no one is going to know what I'm talking about, but...

I'm doing some bugfixes for Blippo+ and wouldn't you know it, coroutines strike again.

"After seeing so many disappointing CRT filters in retro-themed games over the years, the accuracy of the signal warping, static, and distortion of an analogue broadcast here is enormously impressive."

The main thing that today's Steam hardware announcement reminds me (and probably only me) of is the 1948 Paramount Decree.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

But by an incredible stroke of serendipity, the man who made that very violin two decades ago was just a few miles away in New Brighton."

That The Game Awards is no longer doing its Future Class program is not surprising to me.

What is surprising is that anyone on earth is surprised by The Game Awards' complete lack of follow through on the stated goals of this program going all the way back to day one.
