When I think about how exquisitely careful NEH staff were to be fair, impartial, and rigorous, and how much work people put into grants so small they’re pocket change…I just want to scream.

Having shipped numerous MMOs over the course of the years, let me tell you that having and using the ‘fascistic’ power of moderation is crucial unless you want to have a 4chan style den of nazis and child porn instead of a viable business.
It's not linguistic loopholes. It's that power is inherently fascistic. It's impossible to be an admin of anything from a major social media platform to a tiny MUD and not turn into a enormous butt-hurt wimp. It's impossible to have the power to delete without using it.

I remember when supporting the Washington Post felt patriotic. But their editorial supporting the complete destruction of the historic East Wing is just the latest sign that their ownership prefers sucking up to those in power versus standing up for what is right. Goodbye.

So far today I've read headline articles about how spraying Roundup on crops, and burning tires to make cement, are fine and good. Pardon me, but I'm not buying it.

This primer on EU game development and policy, done in the style of a pixel-art game, is super impressive!

I sent a Quack-O-Gram and you can too! Show your support for science by sending your Congressional representatives a ducking message about the importance of strong leaders in our science agencies.
You asked for it! We delivered Quack-O-Grams to our members of Congress urging them to #ImpeachRFK, and get that Quack out of office!

There's still time for you to get in on this fluffy, feathery action: Send your own duck at zurl.co/W1ZnB and keep the momentum going! 🦆

As we see fleets of drones attacking cities in the Russia/Ukraine war, at the same time as food and aid trucks are being blocked getting into Gaza, I can't help but wonder -- would fleets of drones be an effective way to deliver food and aid in war zones?

A 14% ⬆️ in applications of Americans seeking education abroad, with record numbers of US students turning to UK universities. Meanwhile, international students are avoiding the US due hostility + uncertainty. The current administration's policies are systematically eroding our knowledge ecosystem.
