Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

Taking potshots at the freedom of the press in the midst of going after the right of the people peaceably to assemble.
Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)

If only we had a one-word descriptor for this salute
Steve Bannon whipped up the CPAC crowd by talking about the possibility of Trump staying in office for a third term—and concluded his speech by giving a provocative gesture that resembled the controversial salute Elon Musk gave at a post-inauguration rally last month.
Steve Bannon Mimics Elon Musk’s VERY Controversial Salute
The president himself has suggested the idea of staying in office many times since moving back into the White House.

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 1%, it can collect $13.

For every $1 the IRS spends auditing the top 0.1%, it can collect $26.

Laying off 7,000 IRS employees (during tax season) isn't about efficiency.

It's about making it easier for the rich to evade taxes.

How many federal workers would DOGE need to fire to make up for Musk not paying his fair share of taxes?

Answer: 677,000. That's 44% of the entire non-DoD federal workforce.

Again, this power grab is not about the budget. It’s about politics.

Some of my family's funniest memories happened in the wake of the traumatic sudden loss of my dad when I was a child. Sometimes laughter is what keeps you afloat.
So maybe it’s time to retire the whole sad books vs funny books discussion. The idea that stories have to be one or the other is a false dichotomy. Let’s share stories that let our kids know it’s okay to grieve. It’s okay to laugh. And it’s okay to do both at the same time.
