Keep hearing about Val Kilmer's cancer but he was cancer free for a decade. He died of pneumonia. Pneumonia is often caused by a bacteria and is passed person to person. It can also be the secondary result of a viral infection. Either way, cancer didn't kill him, someone sick breathing on him did

Looking through microfilm of the Northside Sunday Citizen, I just happened to see this story on Sept. 7, 1928, about a movie theater being planned on Southport … Hey, it's @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social!
Sept. 7, 1928, Northside Sunday Citizen $300,000 MOVIE FOR SOUTHPORT A $300,000 structure, housing the New Blaine theater, is to be built on a 200 foot frontage at 3713-31 Southport, between Waveland and Grace. It will also contain 34 two- and three-room kitchenette apartments, and eight stores. The theater will be of Spanish style, the interior designed to give an open-air effect, with moving clouds and winkling stars in the ceiling. The owner will be the Blaine Building corporation, of which M.J. Schmidt is president. Others in the corporation are Sol Tadanier, George A. Klain, and R.A. Von Danden. The article about the Music Box Theatre construction plans appears on Page 1 of the Northside Sunday Citizen from Sept. 7, 1928. The top headline is: "ANSHE BURIES SHEMOS SUNDAY"

Found when looking for something else on a Sanborn map. 4338-40 S. Wentworth was built in 1913 as the Adam Theatre. It was later renamed the Emmett and in 1945 became the Atom. Now it's a church. (Photo not mine.) Anders Lund was the architect.
One story concrete building with a facade of vertical stripes of stone and red brick. Over the entrance is an area of yellow brick with a gold cross in the center. A red sign with white lettering says "Wayfaring Church of God in Christ." Building permit from 1913 for 4338-30 Wentworth Ave. The owner was Robert Levine and the architect A. G. Lund. The permit is for a 1-story brick theatre. Some of the writing is illegible but the date on the line for Final Report is 11/30/13 and the cost was $30,000. Vintage black and white photo from the Cinema Treasures website shows the marquee for the Emmett Theater announcing a double feature of "Adventure in Manhattan." Newspaper clipping of an ad from a 1914 Chicago Tribune announcing "Prisoner of the "Owls" Gang or the Victims of Revenge in Four Pars" at the Emmet Theater, 4338 Wentworth Ave. There is a short paragraph describing the film as a "sensational, thrilling and emotional drama."
