Trump's choices in office and his attacks on diversity and equal opportunity have represented a direct assault on the Black middle class' ability to maintain economic stability. CAP's William Roberts and @mariamrashidphd.bsky.social explain:
Trump’s Agenda Is a Direct Threat to the Black Middle Class
Donald Trump returned to the presidency promising a policy agenda that would help the Black middle class succeed. However, his choices in office and his attacks on diversity and equal opportunity…

How Cuts to NIH Research Funding Would Hurt States
Proposed changes to the National Institutes of Health’s $48 billion budget would risk jobs, threaten state economies, and hamper progress toward prevention and treatment of diseases such as cancer.

I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

I can’t say I’m not surprised.

I am disappointed by the blatant disregard for our nations lack of accountability and ability to stand up to someone who is actively pining people against each other and pushing racism.

The federal funding freezes have thrown our country into chaos, leaving us questioning how to understand the gravity of this situation. W/this in mind, our fantastic researchers @americanprogress.bsky.social created tables that show the number of people by state who would be harmed by funding cuts.

I have been so upset the past few days.

I was a USAID fellow in 2015. This funding changes the trajectory of people’s lives.

This funding saves lives & prevents death & the spread of disease. Closing USAID will not only hurt Americans, it will have catastrophic rippling effects across the globe.
USAID’s website has been deleted, all that is left is a note saying all personnel are now on administrative leave and personnel outside the US are to be brought home. Completely illegal, no act of congress or even executive order was signed to dismantle the agency

Ask yourselves why the GOP is hellbent on dismantling diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) efforts in our country?

What do these offices accomplish across sectors in our country?
What data do they collect and disseminate?

DEi isn’t just a hiring practice as the administration wants you to believe.
BREAKING: In a new executive order sent out by the White House, Donald Trump has revoked the federal contractor nondiscrimination executive order, EO 11246, that was signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965 and has protected employees of businesses seeking federal contracts from discrimination ever since.

Wouldn’t it be so annoying if DEIAtruth@opm.gov was flooded with actual truth about the importance of equal opportunity and fighting discrimination? Instead of ratting out folks following the law like Trump intends. So annoying for them.

Contrary to what the major media outlets are reporting, there are some billion $$$ corporations who are standing up against the GOP's anti-DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) rhetoric.
This information is vital to know, as we hold power to push back on ideologies that we disagree w/as Americans.

the thing to note about the Elon “Department of Government Efficiency” thing is that the Government Accountability Office already exists and serves this basic function. the problem is that it’s largely serious and nonpartisan. they’re trying to build their own hyper-ideological version of it.
