Many thanks to #NationalGrid , #SouthWestWater and all the other bodies and volunteers who worked to restore utilities, clear roads, support those affected and more, after #StormGoretti. So much appreciated. 🥰

They were having a calm exchange seconds before he murdered Renee Good, and she was barely moving and clearly avoiding him.

Stop the lies.

Less than 2.5 secs of the Wren's morning, slowed down.
Always investigating, peering & calculating the odds.
As the temperature falls, the wren looks for aquatic invertebrates more & more.
Freshwater shrimps (amphipods), must be rich in proteins & other nutrients you would imagine.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

2/2 This is the shy female, hiding in the grass who is the heart's desire of the male.
Still many days before mating assuming she sticks around, as the nest is still only half-finished.
It's a nice construction in the upper corner of the shed. This type of Wren's nest is very difficult to construct.

🧵 1/2 News Flash!!! - a female Wren has just arrived! - such is the excitement of the male that he drops his nesting material and goes the full Romeo...
Unfortunately, the sun was so hot it had shifted the lens on the camera, leading to a poor quality clip - them's the breaks...
All sorted now.

I won't lie: after 3 weeks of experiencing almost unimaginably abundant and diverse Costa Rican nature, returning home to the Irish ecological moonscape is a visceral gut punch.

But what Costa Rica shows is that it doesn't have to stay like this: nature CAN return.
