I was one of the ones who got out and I agree with this take but also the slower service was because like a third of skilled, older line cooks (45-60, weird dude but a machine on the line, never calls out, if you've done kitchen work you have met this person) died of covid
My boomer coworker complained endlessly about no one wanting to work as state unemployment levels hovered around 2.0% because service at the restaurants was slower because everyone with an option got the fuck out of the service industry.
