With affordable childcare hard to find, Head Start helps parents work, pursue education, and build better futures for their families.

We're suing to stop President Trump's dismantling of this essential program.
Can Head Start Survive the MAGA Era?
A sixty-year consensus on the War on Poverty program is at risk of finally coming undone.

Now while he and his ilk are abroad would be a great time to arrest him and take him to The Hague.

I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard to wake up and be hopeful. But I woke up, and I still have the rest of the day to be hopeful.

I refuse to let the next 4 years ruin the time I have here.
I will have joy.
I will laugh.
I will rest.
I will dance.
I will sing.
I will spend time with folks I love.
I will find ways I can help my community.
I will find the beauty.
I will hold on to peace.
I will live.
I will have joy.

It is simply not enough for universities to say, “Our grants & research offices are looking into how research will be affected by the latest directive.”

University leaders must actively and very publicly make the case for the kind of work many of us do. The silence on this front is deafening.

I've heard a number of people say, "I live in a safe blue district/state--there's no point in calling my reps since they're already on the right side." Yes, there is: You can call and insist that they be among the loudest voices on the issues you care about, since they can afford to be.

If you live in Wisconsin, you need to get involved with Susan Crawford's campaign now.

Far-right activists have been talking about this race since November.

If you live out of state, consider phone banking for crawford or throwing dough to her campaign or grassroots groups organizing for her.
A reminder that there's a big state supreme court race in Wisconsin coming up April 1st.

It's between a progressive who has defended planned parenthood in court, and Wisconsin's former AG who supports archaic abortion laws.

Guess which one Musk is supporting?

He doesn’t have the authority. full stop. doesn’t mean he won’t try everything or that irreparable damage won’t come of it even if it’s held up in courts or upended. they’re hoping we concede 1 defeat out of1000 hateful orders they vomit and that we’ll call that a victory, 99.99% No. Concede nothing

If you work for a school, email admin to demand they protect their vulnerable students AND demand they write to their superiors. Then write to those higher ups AND demand that they too write to their superiors, and so on and so on. It will get to the top.

i watched literally TWENTY CALLS change an issue from 2-5 to 5-2 at city council one day.
I recently reposted a former congressional staffer who said that when an issue got 20-30 calls it would get representatives freaked out and ready to do something. It takes less than you’d think, because so few people actually take that kind of action

Keep pushing back.
Worth remembering that it was a coup attempt--an attempt to steal Congress's powers and turn the presidency into a dictatorship--and that pushing back mattered. Thanks to everyone who raised a ruckus....

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.
