I promise you you can help. These are the counties who have NOT YET been approved BUT are currently in the process of applying for the 287(g) program to contract with ICE. If you live in any of these counties, you have tremendous power to make sure this doesn’t happen. And it won’t if you step up.

Cenzontle is *7* years old this month, as old as my son Julian. I’m still bewildered that my small book of poems is still making the rounds still reaching far and wide finding new readers. Never in a million years would I have guessed. 🥹

Grateful for Amy Antongiovanny and all the students at Butte College who came out in the middle of a winter storm to hear some poems, old and new.

This Thursday I will be leading this free generative Artist Teach-In along with mixed media artist Motyko, hosted by @unitedwedream, to be in community, create our art, and strategize. I will have generative exercises, and we'll talk about how we can take action THROUGH our art.
