People are opening up Meta AI Ray Ban glasses and modding out the LED recording light, then selling them on eBay. There is huge interest in disabling this functionality, which means basically you cannot trust anyone wearing these (i'm sure you already weren't)

A $60 Mod to Meta’s Ray-Bans Disables Its Privacy-Protecting Recording Light
Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses usually include an LED that lights up when the user is recording other people. One hobbyist is charging a small fee to disable that light, and has a growing list of customers ar...

I have recently been awarded France’s national order of merit, for my career, in science, in open source, and around AI. The speech that I gave carries messages important to me (French below;...

Thank you! Somebody (@gracekind.net ) has finally found the perfect way to answer these "its just matrix multiplication" takes.

Also, the take "there is nothing new with deep learning, neural nets were around 50y ago" is like "nothing new with humans, amino acides were around 4.4 billion y ago".
It’s just matrix multiplication

Many of the most important “prompt engineering” skills are just management skills: clearly understanding the task to be done and what information is needed to do it; explaining the task to the AI; giving useful feedback to improve outputs; & generalizing lessons learned into a process.

The opportunities are so huge (and current issues in school caused by AI are so big) that it seems imperative that we, as a society, figure out how to best use AI in education as soon as we possibly can.

But we don't have answers yet. I wrote about this here: www.oneusefulthing.org/p/post-apoca...
