Am I the only one who think the Irish government needs to establish a ministry for technology? Technology is so pervasive now, it has real and long last effects on society including and not limited to AI, Crypto, social media, porn, drones, gene therapy, nuclear. All these and more need proper focus

Funnily enough, I'm off to an exhibition celebrating more than 40 yrs of an artists studio space in Temple Bar this evening. Something made possible only cos the scrappy space artists found & made for themselves in an unloved part of the city in 1982 was saved by a grand vision for the city

<div class="field field-field-text"><p data-end="391" data-start="190">The Israeli army has issued a direct warning that it plans to strike the villages of Jbaa and Mahrouna in southern Lebanon, escalating tensions along the border as fears grow for civilians in the area.</p>
<p data-end="627" data-start="393">Army spokesman Avichay Adraee posted the threat on X, attaching two maps that highlight five specific buildings. Israel claimed, without independent verification, that the marked sites form part of Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.</p>
<p data-end="957" data-start="629">Addressing residents in the targeted areas, Adraee said: “You are located near buildings used by Hezbollah and for your safety, you are required to evacuate them immediately and stay away from them by a distance of at least 300 metres [984 feet].” He added: “Remaining in the area of the marked buildings exposes you to danger.”</p>
<p data-end="1133" data-is-last-node data-is-only-node data-start="959">The warning comes as Israel continues to expand its military aggression beyond Gaza, increasingly dragging neighbouring countries into the fallout of its regional escalation.</p>

Sometimes when I give interviews about Little Deer and DCAF I say Dublin is actively hostile to local events and small businesses and this is another example of that.
This would make it the 6th (!!) venue since we started in 2017 that DCAF lost due to the venue closing (or no longer hosting events).
