Also, this is our new foster dog. He is on ADHD meds. Like for real. We and the rescue agency are doing our best for him to get him adoptable (he might be a foster fail tbh, he and our other pitbull are best friends and boyfriends now i guess). If you can help, read on or share please!

I think I'm going to start a thread of my alt text tips just so they can be found in proximity to each other.

Anyone else just realized "joever" is pronounced "joe-ver" and not "joe-ever?" Just me?

in 2013 I saw a man get a 100,000 hour probation on the SomethingAwful forums and today I saw him come off probation and immediately pick up the same argument, quoting a reply from 2013, absolute next-level hater, I can't even imagine, my man is the Count of Monte Posters

Sometimes you have to keep yourself from speaking the full truth about a thing because the people who really need to hear it will shut down then shut YOU down because they can't handle it. Sometimes you need to hint at a thing so they don't get scared and angry and can actually hear you. I hate it.

most people who are not trans women don’t seem to know how terrifyingly isolating it can be to be a trans woman.

it’s v possible to have nobody in your corner. at all. no family. no friends. no community. nobody to offer you a kind word or share a meal with you.

my body is a computer. emotions are a program by which my body processes certain data. my brain is a program by which my body processes certain data. sometimes those pieces of data overlap. sometimes those programs do not communicate and sometimes they on different pages entirely.

told my boss i am autistic (because she told me she wants me to apply for her job when she retires next week) and she said "i never would have guessed! if you have to tell anyone else, [supervisor's name] will keep your secret."

...it's not a secret? actually it's very obvious...?

There’s willful self-delusion in the NYT’s bizarre moralizing.

Civility is a treaty. A mutual adherence to norms. When one side has shown itself eager to lay waste to law, limit freedoms, attack the vulnerable, and foment violence in its ranks, the treaty is broken.

The norms are dead.
New York Times Editorial Board: "Mr. Trump’s political agenda cannot and must not be opposed by violence. It cannot and must not be pursued through violence."

Ok but to be clear Trump's political agenda *is* violence. We get that right? I dont want us to miss that

Wear a mask. Even if you just start popping one on at the store, on the metro, in meetings at work, at your job when someone else is in a mask. Any additional masking slows the spread and makes it more possible for people like me to be in public places. You don't have to be perfect, every bit helps.
New today:

CDC now estimates that SARS-CoV-2 levels in wastewater have reached "high" levels nationwide, for first time since past winter wave

At state level, 26 now have COVID-19 levels that are "high" or "very high" in wastewater
